The law firm MARS – IP is a Franco-German and European law firm based in Berlin, specialising in intellectual property law, copyright, data protection, digital law and communications law. Our clients operate in various economic, artistic and cultural sectors. We work in French, German and English and take a European approach, which we value and consider to be forward-looking!

We are growing, and our aim is to make our team more European and to offer our clients multilingual expertise in the fields of intellectual property and commercial law, spanning several areas of law. We are currently looking for

A German working student

or research assistant (m/f/d)

Your objectives and responsibilities:

You will become part of a small, dynamic and multicultural legal team and work alongside Marie-Avril Roux Steinkuehler. You will liaise with international clients and advise them on all aspects of intellectual property and data protection law, as well as in legal disputes. You will gain an insight into the running of a flexible, modern law firm that is constantly adapting to the current challenges facing the legal profession. You will be responsible for carrying out the firm’s information and updates tasks entirely independently, under the supervision of a supportive team.

Your profile:

You are a native German speaker and have at least C1–C2 level proficiency in English
Ideally, you are also proficient in French
You are a student (working student) or have successfully passed the First State Examination in Law (research assistant)
Training in French law would be desirable, but is not essential
You have a genuine interest in international affairs
You are able to multitask, are quick, organised and self-reliant. You are not afraid of new challenges, are a good communicator and can work well in an international team
You are available for a contract of 20 hours per week.

Vos objectifs et missions

Vous intégrez une petite équipe juridique dynamique et multiculturelle et travaillerez avec Marie-Avril Roux Steinkuehler et Maël Strahmann. Vous serez en contact avec une clientèle internationale dans leurs dossiers de conseil et de contentieux dans tous les domaines du droit de la propriété intellectuelle et des données personnelles. Vous apprendrez la gestion d’un cabinet d’avocat, flexible, moderne et en perpétuelle adaptation aux défis actuels de la profession d’avocat. Vous aurez la responsabilité de mener les missions d’information et d’actualité du cabinet en toute autonomie sous la supervision d’une équipe bienveillante.

Votre profil

De langue maternelle française, vous avez au moins un niveau C1-C2 en anglais.
Vous êtes élève-avocat titulaire d’un Master 2 en droit de la propriété intellectuelle, données personnelles, technologie de l’information.
Une formation en droit allemand et la connaissance de l’allemand seraient souhaitables, mais restent facultatives
Vous avez un réel intérêt pour la vie internationale
Vous êtes multitasking, rapide, organisé.e et autonome. Les nouveaux défis ne vous font pas peur, vous savez communiquer et travailler en équipe internationale
